What we saw and what we learnt

There was a myriad of intriguing products there, a number of entry control systems and a lot of ID solutions.

Of most interest to us, obviously, were the shutters and security doors. 

The Aluroll stand was showcasing their Elite E130 Security shutter, which has both LPCB certification and NPSA approval, and we are in the process of installing yet another one of these shutters, this time on a military barracks in the UK.

It was really interesting catching up on some insightful talks around national security and the varying challenges faced across the world, in what is becoming a far more varied and challenging landscape to stay ahead of the antagonists.

Our Take Aways

Security is an ever evolving landscape and security at national level is becoming more and more sophisticated.

The work down by BRE to evolve the LPCB security ratings, helps ensure any physical security products are fit for purpose and their combined testing and certification, helps ensure that specifiers and government officials are using the right products that are made and certified to the highest standards.

It is important to check all certifications and always refer back to the Red book to ensure the products you are specifying are not only what they say they are but they actually comply to the latest testing standards.

Our E130 range is all tested and certified by LPCB to their latest LPS 1175: Issue 8, and is also NPSA approved.

We have a full resource library with datasheets and certification as well as product specs being available over on NBS alongside BIM models for the majority of our Security Shutter range.  This has always been a focus for us and we are pleased to see the industry placing more and more importance on compliance.
