To ensure your roller shutter is compliant with the latest legislation, we recommend servicing your shutters every 12 months. This helps to mitigate any risks which could compromise the safety of staff, and ensures your shutter is in good working order.
Without regular maintenance in place you could risk prosecution under the Health and Safety at Work 1974 act in the event of a serious accident or injury.
REGULATIONS AND LEGISLATION
Current legislation for roller shutters applies to the regular maintenance of industrial, commercial and domestic roller shutters. These regulations include:
- Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
- Building Regulations
- Construction Products Regulation
Those with a legal responsibility to comply with these regulations include Maintenance Contractors and System Managers. This can include Owners, Workplace Managers, Managing Agents, Facilities Managers or any person or company with a responsibility for maintaining the shutters in question.
In order to satisfy these regulations you need to be able to demonstrate that regular maintenance has been carried out and that any defects have been remedied. This is why we provide a detailed report outlining any defects and have parts available to complete the necessary repairs on the day of your service.
